Date: Sunday 24 January 2021
Location: National Museum of the DRC, Kinshasa - online
Invitation:
The Universal Peace Federation, UPF Africa is pleased to invite you to take part in marking the International Day of African and Afro-descendant Culture that it is organizing in collaboration with the UPF National Chapter, the Ambassadors for Peace and a College of Advisors to the Presidency of the Democratic Republic of Congo this Sunday, January 24, 2021.
This international gathering of dedication to peace, culture and development for unity in Africa, under the High Patronage of His Excellency Mr. Felix TSHISEKEDI TSHILOMBO, President of the Democratic Republic of Congo and Head of State, will take place at the National Museum in Kinshasa on January 24, 2021 and will be streamed online and on social media networks in Africa and around the world.
Several renowned personalities and panelists from the DRC and other African nations and the world will speak on this occasion.
Indeed, UNESCO has proclaimed 24 January as World Day for African and Afro-descendant Culture at its 40th session of the General Conference in 2019. This date coincides with the adoption of the Charter for the Cultural Renaissance of Africa, adopted by the Heads of State and Government of the African Union in 2006.
Each year, on 24 January, the World Day of African and Afro-descendant Culture will celebrate the many living cultures of the African continent and the African Diasporas around the world, and promote these as an effective lever for sustainable development, dialogue and peace.
